Amy Wright, director of MOSES,THE AUTHOR is intrigued by old plays, as well as new ones. She has directed Pinter, Chekhov, Anouilh, Strindberg, Pirandello, Ionesco, Charles Mee, Tennessee Williams, Ibsen, Molnar, Guare, and Kaufman & Hart. 

 

Wright's artistic home is at HB Studio in Manhattan, where last year she directed a season of Lanford Wilson's plays including Balm in Gilead and The Rimers of Eldritch. She has directed off-Broadway and off-off Broadway productions, as well as many festival entries and out-of-town shows. 

 

Amy made a fascinating artistic migration, from prolific and beloved actress, to the highly respected Indie Theater director she is today. On film she appeared in The Deer Hunter, Breaking AwayMiss Firecracker, Crossing DelancyStardust MemoriesThe Accidental Tourist, and many others. Here’s Amy from around the time when she made her smashing debut as Sabbath Lily Hawks

in John Huston’s classic film Wise Blood.

Eli Thacker Taylor (Assistant Director) is a director and educator currently living in Brooklyn, New York.

His previous directing projects include: How to Get Things Done in Washington by Andrew R. Heinze (HB Studios), Shooting Abe (Frigid Festival), Milk for Mrs. Stone (Fringe Festival), Taming of the Shrew (Gage Players), and numerous readings, children's theatre productions, and radio plays. He has assisted directors at The Shakespeare Theatre of New Jersey and Profile Theatre (Portland, OR).
